Marsyangdi – Kathmandu 220 kV Transmission Line Project

A)      Project Detail/Scope:

Name of ProjectMarsyangdi – Kathmandu 220 kV Transmission Line Project

Scope: Construction of 220kV Transmission Line from Tanahu, Markichowk to Kathmandu, Matatirtha and Construction of 220kV GIS Substation at Tanahu, Markichowk & 220kV AIS Substation at Kathmandu, Matatirtha.

B)     Project Objectives and Goals:

The objective of the project is to Construct 220kV Transmission Line from Tanahu, Markichowk to Kathmandu, Matatirtha and Construct 220kV GIS Substation at Tanahu, Markichowk & 220kV AIS Substation at Kathmandu, Matatirtha so that the power from Marsyangdi basin can be transmitted to Kathmandu to fulfill the load demand.

Scope: Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Marsyangdi – Kathmandu 220kV Transmission Line

Contract Agreement Date: 30 June, 2016

Contract Completion Date: March, 2019

Cost of Contract: USD 12,480,187.55 and NPR 684,962,937.89

 

Major Activities:

Major materials for construction has been delivered to site and Construction of about 100 tower foundation and about 8 tower erection work completed and other works on process.

Package 2: Marsyangdi-Kathmandu 220 kV Transmission Line (ICB - PMD - MKTLP - 072/073 – 03)

Scope: Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 220kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) in Matatirtha, Kathmandu and Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) in Markichowk, Marsyangdi

IFB Publication Date: 20 May, 2016

Contract Agreement Date: 22 December, 2016

Contract Completion Date: June, 2019

Cost of Contract: USD 15,693,422.42 and NPR 551,562,110.04

 

Major Activities:

Drawings and design of Major materials for construction has been approved & in process of manufacturing and site leveling work at both site has been completed.

220kV Substation:

Tanahu, Markichowk: 69 ropani land acquisition completed

Matatirtha, Kathmandu: 110 ropani land acquisition almost complete

220kV Transmission Line:

Gorkha District: 48 ropani land acquisition for 44 tower pads almost complete

Dhading District: 119 ropani land acquisition for 98 tower pads compensation distribution on process

Chitwan District: 2 bigha land acquisition for 21 tower pads notice published

Kathmandu District: 5.5 ropani land acquisition for 3 tower pads on process

Tanahu District: 4 ropani land acquisition for 2 tower pads on process

Building:

School building of 40 rooms was acquired at the stage of land acquisition process for 22okV Matatirtha substation where PMD office and other project office are located now.
